A warm sunny day and fifty-five community members come together to plant seven hundred native species as part of the project to rewild Mt Gravatt Showgrounds attracting birds, butterflies and bees.

This year the project is proucly supported with a Bupa Landcare Healthy Cities grant.

Site preparation is the key to long term success with habitat restoration.

It was a particular pleasure to welcome back a team from Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Carina.

A special guest was Baringa Barambah the Turrbal songwoman wearing her late mother’s possum cloak. Baringa welcomed us to Country, shared stories, sang the ancestors and country and invited us into song with her. Truely special to have Brainga join us, she touched many.

Plants selected for this site are all local natives that originally grew here. Plants sourced from Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C), Norman Creek Catchment Co-ordinating Committee (N4C), SOWN (Save our Waterways Now) and Paten Park Native Nursery
